I’m Derek Brealey, the photographer behind dbrealey photography. My focus is live music—capturing the energy, emotion, movement, and connection that make every show different.

What draws me to concert photography is everything happening between the obvious moments: the expression right before a chorus hits, the crowd reacting to a favorite song, the lights cutting through the room, and the split-second details that disappear as quickly as they happen. My goal is to create images that feel like the show actually felt, not just document what it looked like.

I’m continuing to build my work in the concert world while working with artists, venues, and publications to create authentic coverage of live performances. Whether it’s an intimate club or a massive stage, I’m there for the same reason—the moments, the music, and the connection.
